Convict Creek

Skiing/Snowboarding
Location:
Mendenhall couloir

Observations

Found the choke of the mendenhall couloir about to melt out. At the narrowest, snow was about the width of a ski with water flowing underneath the snow.

Once the snow is gone, steep, water polished rock will remain that I would not down climb in ski boots. The steepness isn’t apparent in the picture.

Signs of Unstable Snow

None reported
