Observations

Climbed to the summit of Round Mtn and skied its E-facing couloir. Navigable snow started at 6470’ on the trail/old mining road. Lots of holes in the snow down to flowing water. There was even one as high as 9300’ - definitely an upcoming hazard for skiers as the snowpack thins. The bottom of the couloir is 100% old slide debris but above 7400’ or so the debris is avoidable and in the upper section there is plenty of smooth snow. Lots of recent wet loose slides originating from rocks and trees. Today was on the cooler side with light to moderate wind so the snow surface stayed pretty locked up. I descended SE aspects from 11k’ at 11:45 with perfect corn.
