Observations

See photo. This is a 6 foot tall cross section of previously undisturbed snow accumulation for the whole season in my front yard down canyon in june lake at 7,300' el. note the layer of concern a little more than half way down. blocks sheared off of this layer very easily. goes to show that shallow hasty pits or checking stability with your ski pole is not going to tell you very much about the layer that is now very deep. careful out there! Also observed a lot of natural activity on 3/13 including a yuge avalanche and debris flow on mt Wood and several areas on the negatives and surrounding area. Saw a natural release on Mt Tatum at approx 1pm
