Observations

Went for a skin up rock creek today. Observed new storm snow over facets on east facing slope at ~9000’ failing at the melt freeze crust during hand shear tests on side of road. Observed shooting cracks and whumpfing immediately after leaving previous skiers skin track near Hilton Lakes TH. Dug a couple pits on a north facing 40* road cut at ~9900’, HS 60cm. Fist hard snow over 4F hard snow down to melt freeze crust over facets. Observed many shooting cracks on steep test slope while skinning. Some compression test results were CTV and CTM depending on location. Tair -5*C, Cloudy, Light snowfall and moderate winds
