March 29, 2022
Zone or Region:
Pine Creek
Activity:
Skiing/Snowboarding
Location:
Elderberry Canyon

Observations

Climbed and skied Mt. Tom via Elderberry. Due to wind loading and rapid warming concerns, I opted to climb and ski the far skiers left side of the head wall, which is lower angle and less consequential. From the ridge, there were signs of only light wind loading. 6” of soft, fresh snow remained on the top and windward side of the ridge. Ski conditions were great, with heavy powder above 10,000 feet and corn below. I skied at 3:30PM, and did not witness or release any wet slides.
