Observations

Explored the Virginia Lakes and Excelsior mountain area to check out coverage, examine the snow pack and attempt to find some corn-like snow.
Found large grain facets on sheltered north facing slopes while more wind exposed areas had mixtures of crusts, wind boards and buried facets.
Found some smaller grain facets on east slopes.
Higher elevation areas with snow coverage on south and south east aspects had a more consolidated snow pack and had some softening.
