Key Points

Drove around Bishop Creek and Round Valley again this afternoon to catalog new avalanche activity. I saw new wet snow avalanches at all elevations, with more occurring near and above treeline than yesterday. Most of the avalanches I saw were on east, northeast, and north aspects with a few on southeast. I only saw one where I could pick out what looks like a crown. This avalanche was at about 6800 feet on a north aspect of Mt. Tom. Everything else was loose wet. Many slides were small, though I saw more large avalanches today than yesterday. None looked bigger than D2. 2 very small slides were skier-triggered in Habegger’s.

It looked like one or two cornices may have fallen given small gaps at ridgelines, but most were intact.

Red arrows point to new slides in photos.
