Key Points

Touring into the Lakes Basin today and had the place to ourselves.  That meant quite a bit of trail breaking, but it was worth it for the solitude.

  • Mild temps with a measured high temp of 2 degrees C
  • Winds were light and came from variable directions on the surface.
  • Wind transport and bannering was not observed on the Mammoth Crest before 2 PM then visibility was obscured.
  • Surface quality was soft and relatively supportable in the trees leading to fast and fun riding.
  • In exposed areas the surface was touched and stiffened by wind making for variable quality.
  • We did not experiencer any signs of instability.
