Key Points

Day 2 with AIARE Level 2 course, spent the afternoon doing student-led tours and focusing on targeting observations.

Left Mill City, skied down into Lower Mammoth Rock Bowl, ascended Panorama Dome and descended NE trees back to Mill City.

1300 @ Bluffs, 8525′

Surface form- 1mm FCs over MFcr

Surface snow primarily comprised of .5-1mm near surface faceted grains on shaded polar slopes, 1-2cm MFcr on E, SE steeper solars.

We dug a test pit at 8800′ on a wind loaded NE aspect on the shoulder of Panorama Dome hoping to find an reactive wind slab. Dug to 75cm, finding only P to K hard .5-1mm rounds. CTN and ECTX results.
