Key Points

Day 1 of AIARE Level 2 was spent honing avalanche rescue skills and digging a test profile to use as a baseline for our following tour days.

Dug along the base of Mammoth Rock near the summer trail. HS was over 320cm deep in this cross loaded feature (further out in the meadow HS was 240cm)

Snow profile attached. We had limited results in this location though did have one sudden planar failure on a very thin layer of graupel down 38cm in our compression tests, with no propagation in our ECT.
