Key Points

A sunny day that started cold with increased warming and radiation until it was muted by afternoon thin cloud in the June BC.  Here are a series of obs roughly corresponding to the photos below.

  • Pogonip fog was observed over Mono Lake.
  • Surface conditions were textured by wind through the Hourglass.
  • Light surface warming and refreezing was observed in old skin tracks above the hourglass on solar aspects.
  • Nearby there was some drifting of surface facets that wasn’t enough to cover old skin tracks
  • Surface warming and refreezing was evident around trees on south facing terrain even with relatively shallow slope by mid afternoon when the terrain had gone back into the shade.
