Key Points

Crisp temperatures in the morning gave way to milder conditions in the afternoon.

  • Wind texture and tracks were visible everywhere in the Sherwins including what appears to be a skin track going up the Main Bardini Chute
  • Surface Crusts and Surface Facets were present everywhere, but with only isolated areas of soft snow without a crust in sheltered areas.
  • Surface Hoar up to 3mm was observed in flat terrain at the base of the approach ridge to Mirkwood area, but it was only in small pockets as opposed to being widespread.
