Key Points

Went up the Tobacco Flat Rd. moraine to have a look at Mono Jim, McGee, and Mount Morrison post storm. Takeaways:

  • Not a lot of evidence of recent avalanches in this area. If there were avalanches on these mountainsides then they likely failed early in the storm. One exception is listed below.
  • Mostly moving observations today, but no signs of instability.
  • It was still snowing and visibility was obscured past Mt. Aggie and Mt. Morrison North.
  • Skies were clearing and the air was still over 395 and the Mammoth Airport.
  • Supportable layers of wind deposited snow made trail breaking manageable.
