Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

On the drive down to June Lake noted several avalanches on the sub-peaks south of Mt. Wood. Mt. Wood's also had avalanche activity on the east aspect that originated just below the summit along the south ridge. Ran out onto the lower apron, ~D3. Departed the June Lake skis area to assess the mid-elevation snowpack. Snowpit had minimal layering with only subtle density differences. Stability tests negative. Some surface sloughing on steeper terrain. Well developed Melt/Freeze crust at 145cm from surface.
