Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured to Northern end of Mammoth Crest. East and south aspects had developed a temperature crust from yesterday that was barely noticeable in places and up to 10cm thick in others.

Skied to 9900' and dug a test pit at treeline in an open slope to see how the recent strom snow is consolidating and how well it is bonded to the old snow interface. We found 75cm of new snow in this pit location, which had a HS of over 300cm (could not reach ground with probe). Storm snow is rightside up, and is well bonded within itself. Below this we found a mixed bag but the faceted crystals were rounding and we did not have any results (CTN x 3, ECTX), unable to show any signs of instability within this pit location.
