Report from a local ski guide: Many snowpack tests yesterday just above Virginia Lake on the E face of Black Mtn indicating very sensitve wind slabs that are capable of initiating a fracture and propagating it across the slope. Many CTV results and 3 ECTPV results, all 27cm down on weak sugary facet snow under 1F hard wind slabs. Softer 4F hard wind slabs that were 10cm deep also failed easily.
