Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

AIARE Level 1 group toured to confirm Persistent Weak Layers present in ESAC forecast. No windslabs were noted due to to elevation of tour, and no loose wet activity was observed while on predominantly north facing terrain (though air temps were 8 deg. C in the shade and T-Surf was 0.5 deg. C with moist to wet snow on solar aspects). Buried surface Hoar was found in this location, and while showing signs of rounding was still reactive in snowpack tests. Basal facets also failed suddenly and large column tests (RB5) confirmed the persistent nature of these layers.
