Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

1/28/2018, toured from top of June Mountain down to Glass Creek Meadow and up White Wing, skied NW bowl on White Wing, and returned to top of June in time for the lift ride out. South side of June was melting fast and required thrashing through chinquapin/aspen thickets. Note that this snow pit was dug day before yesterday (Sunday Afternoon, apologies for tardy post).  The image is of fist-hard facet layer at 22-49 cm, grid is 1mm.

Any other comments about the observation or links to outside pages that have more info on the observation:

Calm, mild day.  Several other riders had similar plans.  I wouldn't recommend descending the south side of June because of the thin snow cover.  Approach from Obsidian Dome instead.
