Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snow conditions were variable on 'The Hose' this morning.  We toured from the end of Old Mammoth rd. skirting the base of Mammoth Rock and moving above and to lookers left (East) as we gained elevation.  Snow coverage was good overalll with some exposed rocks around Mammoth rock, and firmer conditions.  Below and to the West of Mammoth Rock, snow conditions firm with a crust from solar heating and overnight cooling.  Above Mammoth Rock and to the West in the North-facing trre's sections snow conditions were softer.  There was about a 6 inch layer of dense, but lighter snow that was fun on the way down.  Overall snow conditions seemed very stable with no signs of instability in the trees or on more open terrain.  The skin track was icy and difficult to navigate.
