Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured up to Sherwin Ridge today, where new snow totals ranged from 30-40cm. Below treeline snow was unconsolidated and had no slab characteristics, whether in the trees or on the ridge features closer to Mammoth Rock Bowl. That began to change at treeline, with a more prounounced wind affected surface between Rock Bowl and the Hose. Minimal cornice growth was observed, some small size 1 avalanches failed naturally during the storm cycle along the ridge, but aside from isolated surface cracking while kicking off chucks of the baby cornice, made no observations of a windslab on lee slopes.

Wind was increasing in the afternoon, blowing snow and banners were clearly visible in alpine elevations.
