More detailed information about the snowpack:

Went for a tour today in the June Lake sidecountry.  I traveled up the hourglass and summited San Joaquin Mountain.  Temperatures were high all day, and throughout my tour, I noted any snow exposed to the sun was wet.  Taking the temperature on the summit of San Joaquin, I recorded 45° F at 1230pm.  I did not observe any recent avalanche activity; however, I noted significant roller ball activity on steep solar aspects and was able to kick a couple wet loose slides on small SE facing test slopes.
Upper elevation exposed terrain was pretty wind hammered consisting mainly of large sastrugi, and supportable wind board.   Despite the warm temperatures surface snow was still cold and dry on more shaded north facing terrain and provided enjoyable powder skiing.
