Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured up the southeast face of Dunderberg peak with the hope that things might soften up a bit.  Unfortunately, cloudy skies and a brisk southwest wind kept surface conditions locked up and icy.  the air temperature was relatively warm and I suspect that even a brief window of sun may have softened things up, but the cloud cover seemed to be building. Surface conditions were smooth and edgeable making for somewhat enjoyable turns on the way down.  We were back at the car by 11 am and missed the precipitation. Looking back at the hills once we hit the highway things looked to be socked in. I would say precipitation started in Ernest around 11:30 or noon. No signs of instability were observed on our tour today.

The road is open to about 9500’ or so and access to Dunderberg was pretty straight forward.
