Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Skied in the Lakes Basin below the Crest, searching for soft snow but anticipating heavily wind affected snow or wind slabs. Treeline elevations still hold soft snow though it is becoming denser with recent warming. Solar aspects on treed slopes becoming moist and crusty.

Above treeline wind affect was more pronounced, with a 5cm skin on top of softer snow below, but we failed to find any wind slabs, and the wind textured snow was dense but skiable.

With a much more supportable snowpack here than in areas further north that received more snow in the recent storm, we opened things up a bit and enjoyed pillow lines in areas with deeper deposits, but shallow buried obstacles are certainly still present
