More detailed information about the snowpack:

We are eagerly anticipating another refresh and thought it made sense to seek out sheltered north facing terrain to see how last week's old/new snow interface was reacting to the new load.  With at least a few more inches in the forecast throughout the week it will be interesting to see what instabilities may develop.

In our profile we performed 2 instability tests.  A Compression Test and an ECT.  CTH SC down 23cm  ECTN23 also down 23  From these tests we found a layer of 1 mm facets under a crust(see snow profile), but not a significant slab to show propagating results across the ECT.

More detailed information about the weather:

We experienced gusty conditions leaving main lodge with very light snowfall.  As we were out the snowfall increased to S1 and even had spells of S2 at times.  Our snow profile gained 2cm of HST while we were out(~3 hours in the field).  In the shelter of the trees winds were Calm to Light from the NE.  It gives us hope the snow will continue and give us good riding conditions tomorrow when we intend to go touring.
