Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Dense new snow ontop of thick frozen melt freeze layer in most areas and elevations.

-8700', NE facing, 4:45pm, moderate SW winds, 38deg slope just on leeward side of rib = very small 3-4" wind slabs releasing during skinning, some shooting cracks 2-3ft in length.  Similar results at top convex role of poop chute (9100')

-9500', NE facing, 5:30pm = New snow=26cm, 0-10cm=fist, 10-15cm=1finger plus, 15-26cm=4finger.  Hand pit / hand shear test showed very well bonded snow with no planar failures.  Multiple hand pits in more sheltered areas showed similar results.

-Some strong SW gusts at ridgetop at 6:15pm.

-Medium sized cornices at ridgetop at 10,000' over NE facing slope.  ski cuts and skier drops off corniced ridge resulted in no slope failures.

-Creamy skiing down to 8500', below that much more "dust on crust" like.
