Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Toured up to ridge via end of Mammoth Rd past Mammoth Rock, across ridge and down fingers.  Low density snow near surface.  Lots of big stellars at snowsurface lower down, surface facets became more widespread toward upper slopes and ridgetop.  See photos.  Calm day, sunny :-)  Pit dug near top of ridge near starting zone of middle finger.  (very thin snow cover top of ridge and entering top of fingers area)

Total snow depth = 285cm  Consistent moderate CT failures at ~66cm down and ~90cm down.  Q1 and Q2 results. CT22 66cm Q2, CT23 66cm Q1, CT24 66cm Q1, CT23 90cm Q1, CT26 90cm Q1.  Extended column tests failed but DID NOT propagate.  ECTN18 66cm.

Great unconsolidated snow.  Coverage became thin ~ 2/3 of the way down, many rocks not far under the surface.
