Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Afternoon tour up rock creek morraine.

Dramatic north wind observed on the drive up with extensive snow transport along the crest. Road is plowed to snowpark. Snowpark has a track but is not groomed. Windy at the start but calm by the end of the day in the canyon.

@1600, -5C SE slope, 15degree slope angle.

Snow depth 55cm, boot pen 0-40cm, ski pen 5cm.

2-3mm sugary facets, fist hardness at the bottom (0-15cm) followed by a rightside up snowpack of mostly decomposing fragments 14-40cm 4f,  40-55 fist.

Decent coverage on the morraine, but an array of challenging ski conditions-  firm windboard, breakable crust, heavy powder.  We tried various eastern aspects and could not correlate aspect with condition. Conditions were inconsistent from one turn to the next.

Great looking junipers.
