Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Headed into Rock Creek to see what's left of the snow and timing of melting.

7am. Parked at pack station. 37 degrees F. No melting. Firm snow. Clear skies. No wind. Toured up the road to Mosquito Flat which is mostly covered but did have 4-5 short, snow free patches. Above Mosquito Flat was mostly snow but did require taking skis off 3-4 times for large dirt and rock patches.

9am. Toured up E facing slopes to Ruby Lake. Melting beginning on E aspects.

930am. 11,200ft, N facing aspect still firm and happy to have ski crampons on this slope.

11am. 12,000 ft, N facing slopes beginnning to melt.  Contintued to bench at 12,200 ft. Clear skies and no wind.

Good corn skiing back to Ruby Lake around noon.  We did observe many recent point releases and wet snow avalanches on N, NE and E aspects in the cirque above Ruby Lake and at higher elevations on Mt Abbott and Mt Dade.
