Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

First red flag was skin tracks were slipping and not supported on top of a denser layer. The most recent storm developed small (3") wind slabs that were on top of a layer (3") of less dense snow. The failure layer in our column test was approximately 8" deep, at a second dense layer. Failure was a Q2 shear - mostly smooth.
