More detailed information about the snowpack:
ECTN, failures in storm snow
34 deg slope
25 deg aspect 9440 FT
HS 115 cm
From top down, 35 cm of F new snow. Not here, but in most places there was a wind crust at the surface which made skiing terrible. Then, various older layers (1 F), F facets 80 cm down, 1 F facets 80 to 115 (ground).

I couldn't find any buried surface hoar here, but it may be that I didn't look carefully enough. In any case, the ECT didn't fail on it, so I was relieved, and a little surprised.
