Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snowpack depth varied from very thin to 75 or even 80 cm on the Southwest aspect of Mammoth Sidecountry.  The depth was thinner and more variable up higher where the terrain was exposed to wind.  Lower down found deeper snowpack especially in sheltered areas and gully features.  The surface texture varied widely from wind scalloped, to wind smoothed and also Melt Forms.  This side of the mountain has been kissed by sun, light to no freeze and ample radiation the last few days.  With continued high pressure I imaging the surface will continue to transform in this area.

There was enough snow to ski in places, but plenty of sharks were still lurking at or near the surface.  Cautions skiing and riding is still critical out there.
