More detailed information about the weather:

Went for a quick skin up Lundy to see how deep down into the snowpack the rain permeated. I found between 10 and 30 cm of new snow on top of the rain layer. Handshears failed with very easy force inside the storm snow at 10 cm and on the old- new snow interface, 25- 30 cm down on the rain crust. A soft storm slab is forming but I didn't get any results a on ski cuts into wind drifts or see any shooting cracks. The rain permeated a band of about 30 cm thickness and two K- hard crusts are forming on the bottom and top interface of the rain layer. Snow below that is dry.
