Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Minimal walking to get to snow. Easy log crossing just above pack station.

Started at 730, snow was firm, ski crampons very helpful. Sun didn’t hit canyon until 930.  

Light wind and overcast weather kept snowpack relatively firm.  Descended firm snow at 1pm.  Some rollerballing and sloughing near the mouth of canyon.  D2 and d3 post storm avalanche debris throughout lower section. (Photo). Other areas with significant sastrugi- up to 25cm height.  Boot pen while ascending minimal (<5cm) in most places but occasionally breaking through upper wind board to 25cm.
