Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured up to the col between Mt Olson & South Peak. Handpits in sheltered trees around 10550' produced relatively easy shears down 35cms on sugary snow. Not a lot of energy in the snow though in protected areas. No cracking or whumphing observed. Both avi paths had previously slid in the storm from 1/8/17. High winds aloft, but not a lot of snow moving about on the peaks. Temps were around 40 degrees at the parking lot at 9am, but gradually decreased. By 10:45am, flurries moved in. By the time we were skiing out at 11:30am after a couple of laps it was snowing S1. Ski pen about 10-20cms depending on wind protection. Good snow. Winds from the WNW.
