Any other comments about the observation or links to outside pages that have more info on the observation: 

  dug to ground at 9600'  depth was 75 cm where i dug.  weak layers at 15 and 25 cm down from top.  easy penetration all 4 fingers.  bottom was suprisingly soild.  did simple  shovel stability test.  no reaction until the 8th impact from my shoulder and then the 25 cm layer collapesed but did not slide.  It sort of crumpled? I did try to video this and will post it but apologize for lousy filming...I will practice!  (Sorry i could not figure out how to load the video of the test column)

Road up to north lake was icy and rough.  Need a snow storm or a zambozzi!  I found fun turnable  winter like snow on north aspect below grass lake.
