Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We toured up Red Cone today in two groups.  It was a surprise not to see anyone else up there on a Sunny Sunday.  Instead of dropping the bowl our team skied and rode dust on crust down through the Crystal Glades and on down to the shoulder above the Lake George Headwall.  From there we skied the shaded north slope down toward Horseshoe lake, which was great riding, though we could feel the old snow surface underneath in places.

We found from 4cm to 15cm of new snow.  Thicker areas were a result of light wind transport and had barely been stiffened into a slab.

See weather information section for more detailed observations of weather and snowpack.

We are due for the storm of the winter.  It is still good skiing and riding out there.  Support ESAC to keep the forecast going.
