More detailed information about the avalanche: 

Skier and pet passed underneath the wind loaded cornice on the Perch at about 08:30 AM and gained summit be traversing to the East.  By time of descent from the Perch at approx 09:15, the wind loaded cornice had partially failed and large debris was visible down in the historic avalanche path a significant distance from the release.  Skier and pet descended safely on the skiers left side from The Perch.  Skier and pet returned the following day to ski in the lower trees and gather additional photographic images.
