Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Toured up to Black Mountain and rode the Northeast face.  There was asmall 1 inch layer of windslab especially on East to Southeast facing aspects with about a 6 inch layer of light snow underneath with a consolidated layer underneat that.  The East to Northeast facing aspects had less of a slab or no slab with a powdery layer about 6 inches deep with a consolidated layer underneat that.  Had a single shooting crack on the Southeast face which extended about 10 feet, but the Northeast facing aspects seemed stable with no signs of instability.  The road was plowed as of 2:00 PM on Wednesday 12/5.
