More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured yesterday from the South Lake closure up to 13000' on the N face of Picture Puzzle Peak. Tuesday night had a N wind and was clear, giving everything up there a good freeze.  New snow at S Lake level was a tiny dusting pushed around a bit into piles by wind.  The fresh from Mon/Tues seemed to be corning up quite quickly on aspects with any solar exposure, but there was still transitional snow to be found  in other spots, and even in the flats.  Some wind affect noted throughout the tour, with small pockets of wind slabs above 12000' on Picture Puzzle.  We didn't have much concern about stability on the N face, though, as wind slabs were localized and small patches, and a brief dig showed many inches of P- to K-hard consolidated snow just below the surface.  Skiing was pretty good with many powder turns, but also those occasional wind slab pockets.  Corn and transitional snow, while supportable, made getting out on the flats a bit of a chore.  Plenty of recent loose wet activity around, but we didn't see evidence of any big wet slides yesterday.
