More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured up Jawbone Canyon to 11,100ft on Table Mtn today. Winds were howling primarily from the SW and W all day making for some cold and ardous skinning with a stiff headwind buffeting my forward progress. Snow was moving and blowing all over the place and gully features and depressions were filling up with nice windbuffed powder. The more convex and exposed terrain was getting stripped and was hardening. I descended around 2pm and there was some windslab developing (5-15cm thick and still fairly soft) on northerly aspects, but not yet reactive while I was up there. I really tried my best ski cutting and stomping on some leeward northerly slopes to get some reaction, but it wasn't there yet. Stability tests showed moderate results at the hardness change between top 20cm of soft (Fist hardness) snow and the next 20cm of (4Finger) hardness snow. No propogation was found in an Extended Column test. Good right side up snowpack where I dug and getting deeper in the Bishop Creek drainage.

More detailed information about the weather:

Very windy today with winds swirling from all directions in the alpine terrain, but prevailing from the South and Southwest with very strong to extreme gusts. Around 1030am the Sierra started becoming obscured in the Bishop area as the sun remained over the Blue Hole of Bishop and the desert below. It was pretty cold today with 20deg temps and associated windchill.
