Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Dug a pit atop Banana Chute on Solitude Peak today. There was a lot of wind loading into the chute, with 240cm of snow just below the breakover at the top of the chute. The snowpack was fairly consistenly 1F stiff all the way to 5cm above the ground, where there was a small collection of facets. A compression test yielded medium results (CT 13 Q2) 30cm down, and slightly harder (CT 23 Q2) approximately 70cm down.

The surface offered supportable skiing conditions all the way down the chute. Biggest hazard was the thin snowpack and sticky snow conditions down low.
