Observations

Toured to 10150' on the E approaches to Sky Haven out of the Big Pine Creek closure today. Saw plenty of slides in the Big Pine drainage, and a pretty fresh one in one of the N gullies of Mt Kidd (photo) - probably ran Friday or later? Weather was hot and still today until midday, when S/SE winds started to pick up and transport snow. It was still snowing all day out towards Gayley and the Sierra crest.

Wind and sun crusts abound, but N aspects around 9500' held settled powder. Also plenty of transitional snow on solar aspects below 9500', and S aspects below 8400' were slightly overcooked corn around 11:30 and skied well.
