Observations

Skied into the sheltered bowl west of Aspendell to dig snow pit to look at deeper instabilities. Got a CTM RP reaction on some shallow wind board, but nothing deeper. Deep snow pack, 275cm, tough cold snow. The layering in the pack at 120-190cm was interesting, but kind of a pain to profile. Didn't do a temperature profile, but I'd say there's not a hint of ripening. My first deep tap test, so I don't know how reliable those results are. Profile attached.

A lot of wind affect in Bishop Creek, but the skiing below our pit was passable wind dapple and soft crust. The debris from the January avalanche in Aspendell is exposed, with most subsequent snowfall stripped off.
