Observations

Weather @ 15:15 ~9000’ : SN S5, SKY OVC, Temp -6°c New Snow:55-80cm
Sloped skied were all under 30° due to our suspicion of new snow problems stepping down to the PWL, as well as plenty of evidence of dry loose slides. We triggered several small slides that would barely be considered avalanches, though they probably would have ran indefinitely across 35° terrain, possibly breaking across wider slabs. We heard a few wumpfs that occurred simultaneously with some of these small slides. While most of our hasty tests seemed to show dry loose results, the possibility of storm slab felt fairly high and worth avoiding. Small increases in cohesion would likely cause big problems.
