Observations

Toured up Bardini Canyon from the Four Jeffrey campground this morning. Conditions were cold and the snow was deep and suprisingly unaffected by wind. Trees all had snow still on them from the storm. At ~9000' - 9200' I probed the snow. There was 160 cm of snow, with 70cm of light storm snow. the next 30 cm felt heavier and crusty, probably wet from the rain. There was a noticeable crust layer 1m down, and there were various crust layers below, with 10-20cm of basal facets on the ground. Winds were westerly and increasing throughout the morning. In some places there was a little slabbyness on the top, but overall I felt very little wind effect on the snow away from the ridge. No whumphing, shooting cracks, or recent slab avalanches

Saw some sluffs that were released on the steep slopes to the lookers left above the campground. Didn't see any slabs.

Skied low angle terrain, and stayed out of terrain steeper than 30 degrees. Didn't dig a pit, conditions were excellent. Three parties out in the AM.
