Observations

We toured in the Lakes Basin today and kept it pretty low angle given the forecast. We saw limited signs of instability in the terrain we traveled below 9500 feet. See photos for some evidence of instability we saw. We observed between 4 and 8 inches of new snow by 3PM depending on elevation and aspect in relation to wind. Very soft surface snow conditions in sheltered areas. Definitely starting to think about tree well hazard in addition to the avalanche danger.
