ROUTE TRAVELED and SKIING CONDITIONS
[We followed an existing skin track leaving from the Emerald Lake trailhead above Coldwater Campground / Tamarack up toward Way lake, then broke off to the west climbing onto the benches below Hammil Bowl / Lake. From here we climbed up into the bowl and booted the main couloir in the cirque. Booting was firm espcially on the upper headwall of the cirque, which was 45º in places.]

[Skiing in Ship's Prow Couloir was good, but firm with a sustained steep pitch. Similar conditions existed at the top of Jaws, skier's right (mostly windboard). Lower portions of the Crest, including the Crystal Lake / Crystal Shot area and the lower TJ Bowl area contained periodic sections of good snow and breakable crust.]

SKI TEST RESULTS
[A ski cut at the top of Ship's Prow Couloir resulted in the release of a small 15-20cm wind slab, consisting of wind-loaded snow from the day's high winds.]
