ESAC
is committed to providing the highest quality information to
the public as well as encourage backcountry enthusiats to become
better educatted about the environment we play in.
This
year we are working to improve our education and outreach program
in the following ways: |
- Make
presentations at local events such as Avy Savvy, fundraisers
and during other appropriate opportunities.
- Install
2 separate Beacon Basins (one at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area
& one at the USFS Visitor Center) for people to practice
beacon use.
- Make
presentations and provide applications of various curriculum
in local school classrooms.
- Where
possible, make other presentations to the local community
on avalanche and snow related topics.
|
| We
are also intersted in encouraging people to take a formal avalanche
course with one of our local supporting guides. A complete schedule
of available courses is available via our Calendar. |
